About Four Sprouts
RV Travel | Practical Vegan Food | Real Family Life
I’m a mom of four, a PhD-trained immunologist, a senior medical writer, and the voice behind Four Sprouts. Together with my husband and our four kids, we travel the United States in an RV while building a life centered around intentional food, family systems, and mobility.
The Family Behind the RV
We’re a family of six based in the U.S. and a big part of our family life happens on the road.
We don’t live in the RV full-time. We have a home base in Ohio, school routines, work commitments, and all the normal structure of everyday life.
But whenever we can, we take breaks to travel, or shift into working on the road (we both work remotely), and we head out for anywhere from a short weekend to multi-week road trips across the country.
Over the years, we’ve built practical systems that make everything sustainable, since traveling with four kids (different ages, different needs) forced us to get efficient fast.
We systemized how we plan stops, how long we stay, what actually keeps kids engaged, and what makes a campground worth it.
Food is where things get more specific.
We cook full plant-based meals in the RV - not just snacks or quick fixes - and figure out what’s realistic in a small kitchen with limited time and space.
Our kids have grown up with this rhythm, and they absolutely love adventuring together. They've learned how to manage remote routines, and that sometimes we need to hike places at dusk just to catch a breathtaking view!

Four Sprouts sits at the intersection of two things we care deeply about:
plant-based nutrition and family travel.
This space documents how those two worlds function together in real life — not in theory, and not in highlight reels.
The Travel Side

Why Evidence Matters
My academic training shaped how I think. I spent years immersed in research and data analysis.
Food is not separate from biology - the gut affects our health, and so, I approach food with scientific literacy and respect for evidence.
Four Sprouts reflects that mindset: intentional nutrition-forward plant-based cooking.
Why Vegan?
Years ago, we recognized that aligning what we eat with our values mattered deeply to us. Compassion toward animals felt consistent with how we wanted to live.
It’s not always the easiest path, especially with four kids and constant travel, but we chose to build around it instead of compromise on it. That means figuring out how to cook nourishing and rich plant-based meals in an RV, how to pack food that travels well, and how to keep it realistic day after day.
What started as an ethical decision grew into something bigger. We’ve seen how it supports our energy, how it shapes the way we cook, and how it brings structure to our routines, at home and on the road.
