About Four Sprouts

RV Travel | Practical Vegan Food | Real Family Life

I’m a mom of four, a PhD-trained immunologist, a senior medical writer, and the voice behind Four Sprouts. Together with my husband and our four kids, we travel the United States in an RV while building a life centered around intentional food, family systems, and mobility.

The Family Behind the RV

We’re a family of six based in the U.S. and a big part of our family life happens on the road.

We don’t live in the RV full-time. We have a home base in Ohio, school routines, work commitments, and all the normal structure of everyday life.

But whenever we can, we take breaks and shift into working on the road, and we head out for anywhere from a short weekend to long, planned RV trips across the country.

So far, we visited 19/50 states in the USA (including Alaska!), and explored 19 National Parks!

Over the years, we’ve built practical systems that make everything sustainable — how we plan routes, choose campgrounds, choose activities (especially since we're managing 4 kids in very different ages), pack efficiently, cook plant-based food in small spaces, and keep four kids engaged.

Our kids have grown up with this rhythm, and they absolutely love adventuring together. They've learned how to manage remote routines, and that sometimes, we need to hike places at dusk just to catch a breathtaking view!

Our Family

Four Sprouts sits at the intersection of two things we care deeply about:

plant-based nutrition and family travel.

This space documents how those two worlds function together in real life — not in theory, and not in highlight reels.

The Travel Side

We build extended, structured road trips across the U.S. while managing school schedules, and work responsibilities.

On this site, you’ll find:

  • Detailed multi-state RV itineraries

  • Honest campground reviews (KOA, Jellystone, National Parks)

  • Drive-time realities with kids

  • How to keep your little ones busy on the road

We plan carefully. We test routes. We document logistics. And we share it in a way that another family could realistically replicate.

The Food Side

Our kitchen — whether at home or in our bus — intentionally runs on plant-based food. Plant-based nutrition requires planning, especially with growing kids.

Here, you will find:

  • Plant-based recipes built for busy households

  • School lunchbox combinations that actually get eaten

  • RV-friendly meals and outdoor cooking inspiration

  • Desserts, mains, breakfasts, and travel-ready food

  • Nutrition-aware cooking grounded in science

Why Evidence Matters

My academic training shaped how I think. After completing a PhD and postdoctoral work in Immunology, I spent years immersed in research, data analysis, and systems thinking.

Food is not separate from biology - the gut influences immune signaling, and so diet patterns affect metabolic and inflammatory pathways.

I approach food with scientific literacy and respect for evidence.

Four Sprouts reflects that mindset: curious, structured, and intentional — without becoming clinical or rigid.

Why Vegan?

Years ago, we recognized that aligning what we eat with our values mattered deeply to us. Compassion toward animals felt consistent with how we wanted to live.

Over time, we also noticed measurable changes in how we felt physically — steadier energy, lighter mornings, meals that nourished without heaviness.

Plant-based cooking opened up creativity rather than limiting it.

It’s about alignment — ethical, practical, and health-conscious.

What This Space Is Building Toward

Four Sprouts is growing into a long-term platform focused on:

  • Educational nutrition content

  • Family travel strategy

  • Evidence-aware plant-based guidance

  • Real-world testing of systems that support mobility and independence

We are raising four kids who are very often seeing and exploring the country from a moving home while learning how food choices and logistics shape daily life.

This project grows alongside them.
